Early mortality

The Finnish Lapphund is generally a long living, healthy breed, with life expectancy of 12 to 14 years. Sadly of course some dogs do die younger, but it should not be forgotten that in UK a number of dogs have lived well past 14, and 16/17 years of age have been recorded.

Where owners have advised of the death of their pets, we have recorded those who sadly died before their 10th birthday.
Information regarding early mortality can be shared/reported to the Breed Health Coordinator, using the Contact Us form from the menu above.
